i need a new book to read. i stood, stumped, at the old dude's table on washington square forever and couldn't decide. typical. so i'm soliciting ideas/recommendations. anything. but no vampires. thanks.
I loved "A Prayer for Owen Meany". And this book has gotten a lot of praise as of late, it was good, but I mostly enjoyed the Dominican Republic history-- "The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao". But you will probably hate both because I recommended them.

if you don't mind books with pictures i'd suggest "Black Hole" by Charles Burns or "Like a Velvet Hand Cast in Iron" by Daniel Clowes
